Hello dear readers, and welcome to the December overview.
Firstly, can I get a “hoooooo boy”?
Did December nearly ruin anyone else?
December is ALWAYS intense, but this year I just felt so overwhelmed and exhausted. The end of 2021, a challenging and intense year!
This month’s overview is a story told with mostly images, so I hope you enjoy!
My Spotify Wrapped! Please note: Phil Collins is on there because of the Tarzan soundtrack. 10/10 highly recommend.Beach afternoons were had – not as many as I’d like but that’s easily remedied!
Team Leonie had a very excellent end of year work party!
We celebrated Kyda’s birthday with platters and wrestling merch! The Witcher 3: I finished the Hearts of Stone expansion pack and started Blood and Wine. Speaking of The Witcher, we also binged watched the new season of the show (which was VERY good).Garden update! Tomatoes are growing, the zucchini and pumpkins are thriving and everything is super green and colourful!First time surfing since before the car accident over 4 years ago. It wasn’t exactly successful and I went into a flare up immediately afterwards, but I’m proud I tried!Went on a super cute friend date with Bilv! We went out for brunch, then had dumplings at the beach for lunch and finally popped into the local raspberry farm where we go to pat an emu!Mikasa is still living her dream life!Festivities! Featuring: my brand new crocs, a visit from Pat, Paul & Duke, two trifles made by me and an Xmas lunch made (mostly) by Jack! We did a second Christmas with my lovely mum at my sister’s house on boxing day!
Watched the monumental launch of the James Webb Space Telescope (at just before midnight on Christmas Day) and cried when it was successful
Celebrated Elle’s birthday and met Zoe’s sweet puppy Jonno!Rung in the New Year journalling and watching wrestling (what a surprise!)
Books I read in December:
The Sanatorium by Sarah Pearse – ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
The Man Who Died Twice by Richard Osman – ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Some of the delightful gifts I received:
Stationery, stickers and journalling supplies
At home pottery kit
Crocs
Chocolate, cheese, spreads, dips + biscuits
Wood carving tools
Harry Potter teapot
Puzzle accessories
Jewellery
Candles + bath accessories
A pandora keyring
Handmade art
Books
A latte glass
A Nintendo voucher
One large wooden spoon that has the text “World’s Greatest Shit Stirrer” printed on it (if you look back through the photos of Xmas day, you’ll see it hanging off the back of a chair. Hohoho).
As someone who’s main love language is gift giving and receiving, I feel thoroughly grateful and extremely appreciative.
So there ya have it! That was my December!
I’m sure I’ve missed a few things because the month was just chock full of, well, everything.
But I’m grateful to have survived another year, and I’m hopeful that I can bring more healthy positivity and joy to 2022.
Big love!
