A Look Back at November!

Holiday greetings, my friends!
It’s nearly Christmas for me, so I sit here writing to you today wearing one of my ugly Xmas sweaters with plans to wrap presents and write some cards this afternoon.
But for now, let’s have a look back at November and all that happened!

Let’s start with a garden update!
In November I repotted the tomatoes, pumpkins, zucchini, broccoli and carrots!
They look so different now, I’ve actually been able to harvest some of the broccoli but that’s for December’s update hohoho.
Kyda also set up the succulent bath – you guessed it, a bath tub filled with succulents!
It looks so cool! I’ve always wanted to have an old bathtub filled with plants, so I’m THRILLED!

While out and about gardening I also met a little friend!
A curious and rather brave little Skink, who let me get relatively close to take photos!

How cool is that?!
Keeping with the theme of being outside we also lit a few fires this month, as fire restrictions start in December.

We’re super serious about bushfire safety and protocols, so unless we get a permit there’ll be no more fires for us until summer is over.
I also spent a lot of November just resting. I’m really feeling that “end of the year exhaustion” this year, so to avoid flare ups and meltdowns rest and recuperation has been my priority.
That’s meant lots of Animal Crossing, watching Wrestling and napping with Mikasa.
It’s been pretty dreamy actually.

November also marked one year since the end of Unus Annus – a collaborative Youtube channel by Ethan Nestor & Mark Fischbach.
They posted a video every day for a year as part of an experiment to create content but then delete everything at the end of the year.

It was incredibly impactful and had such an inspiring message of “everything ends, so why not make the most of it?”
So that was emotional!
What else? Oh yes! My hair.
I’m still in LOVE with it.
The owner of the salon I go to gave me a free bottle of shampoo to try; it adds red back into your hair once it starts to fade and works brilliantly!
I was so grateful because she just came over, offered it to me and refused to accept payment.

So basically what I’ve been doing is letting my hair fade to a gorgeous ginger and then when it gets to more of a strawberry blonde, I hit it with the red shampoo and BAM!
I’ll need to get my roots touched up in the New Year, but this shampoo has been absolutely fabulous.
Also my hair is NEARLY long enough to perm again.
Once I have red, curly hair I will have achieved exactly the hair I’ve been dreaming of these last few months.

I also had the joy (and amusement) of having both my siblings over! It’s been awhile since the three of us have been able to all hang out.
You can see my brother and sister totally get along… ๐
Here’s a list of everything else I did in November:
- Went to the cinema and watched Venom 2 (VERY enjoyable)
- One of my best friend’s Pat & his partner visited and we had the most lovely BBQ at his mum’s house
- Mikasa had her vet check and is in excellent health
- One of Jack’s best mates came down to visit and they went off camping for the weekend
- I had a lovely brunch & catch up with my friend Frankie, and a delicious lunch with my friend Em
- Kyda and I watched WWE’s Survivor Series live, continuing our monthly tradition of watching the PPVs
- I hung out with my sister a lot which was lovely
- I finished two books! When the Sky Fell on Splendour (5 stars) and The Devil You Know: Stories of Human Cruelty and Compassion (5 stars)
- We put the Christmas decorations up!

Look how cosy it is!
And lastly, here’s my favourite meme of the month:

Truer words have never been spoken.
I hope you all have a gentle holiday season, whether you celebrate Xmas, something else or nothing at all!
I will see you all in 2022.
Hugs,
